Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapists help individuals regain or develop the skills necessary for daily living and working. They work with patients to enhance their ability to perform everyday tasks, especially following illness or injury.
Occupational Therapists focus on helping patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, eating, and bathing. They work with patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or dealing with long-term conditions to develop strategies that help them live independently.
OTs assess the physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges that patients face and tailor treatment plans to meet individual needs. Occupational Therapists often recommend modifications to a patient’s environment or use assistive devices to enhance mobility and functionality. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and nursing homes.
