Welders join metal components together by using heat, electricity, and gases to form strong bonds for manufacturing, construction, and repair.
Job Brief
In this role, you’ll work with various metals, welding them into structures, vehicles, and other essential components. You will be expected to follow blueprints, ensure weld quality, and ensure workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding on metal parts and structures
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Inspect welded parts for quality and precision
- Use welding equipment like arc welders, MIG welders, and TIG welders
- Follow safety standards and maintain work area cleanliness
Requirements
- Certification in Welding or a related field
- Proficiency in welding techniques and equipment
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
Wages
Average hourly wage: $20 to $35 NZD
