Job Description
As a Materials Engineer, you will study the properties of materials such as metals, polymers, and ceramics to develop and improve materials used in a wide range of products. You will collaborate with designers and manufacturers to select the most suitable materials for production, and conduct tests to ensure that they perform as expected. You will also work to reduce material costs, improve quality, and develop sustainable manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
- Select and develop materials for product applications
- Test materials to ensure they meet performance and safety standards
- Work closely with production teams to solve material-related issues
- Optimize material processing methods to improve cost-efficiency
Requirements
- Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes
- Experience with materials testing and failure analysis
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
Wages
Average hourly wage: $35 to $55 NZD
Annual salary: $75,000 to $110,000 NZD
