Job Brief
As a Mechanic, you will diagnose mechanical issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and repair malfunctioning components. You'll work with a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment in garages, dealerships, or service centers.
Responsibilities
- Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostics
- Repairing or replacing faulty parts and systems
- Performing oil changes, tire rotations, and tune-ups
- Testing vehicle performance after repairs
- Communicating with customers about repairs and costs
Requirements
- Certification as an Automotive Service Technician
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of diagnostic software is an asset
Wages
Average hourly wage: $22 to $38 AUD
May include overtime, tool allowances, and performance bonuses
Salary
