Job Brief
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will perform diagnostic tests and service a variety of diesel-powered engines. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, replace parts, and perform regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns. Working in workshops, construction sites, or transport companies, you will play a key role in vehicle and equipment reliability.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting diesel engines and identifying issues
- Repairing or replacing defective parts, such as fuel systems, brakes, and transmissions
- Performing routine maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups
- Operating diagnostic equipment to test performance
- Keeping detailed service records and completing repair documentation
- Ensuring safety standards and environmental regulations are followed
Requirements
- Trade certification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical components
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams
- Physical stamina and mechanical aptitude
- List ItemPrevious experience in a similar role is an asset

Average hourly wage: $28 to $45 AUD
