Dishwasher
Dishwashers play a crucial role in keeping kitchens running smoothly by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use. This position is ideal for individuals who work efficiently, value cleanliness, and want to be part of a busy kitchen environment.
As a Dishwasher, you’ll be responsible for washing dishes either manually or using industrial dishwashers, keeping the kitchen clean, and assisting with basic maintenance. You’ll work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a steady supply of clean dishes during meal services. It’s a fast-paced role that requires attention to hygiene, time management, and the ability to handle physical tasks like standing, lifting, and bending.
You may also be asked to assist with minor food prep, taking out the trash, and cleaning floors or workstations. Dishwashers are an essential part of any kitchen team and often find opportunities to grow into prep cook or kitchen helper positions.
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils manually or with a dishwasher
- Stacking and organizing clean dishes for reuse
- Cleaning sinks, counters, floors, and kitchen equipment
- Taking out garbage and recycling
- Replenishing dishwashing supplies and cleaning materials
- Assisting kitchen staff when needed
- Following hygiene and sanitation protocols
- No formal education required
- Ability to handle physical tasks and stand for long hours
- Willingness to work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment
- Attention to cleanliness and food safety
- Dependability and ability to follow instructions
- Previous kitchen experience is an asset but not necessary
- Average hourly wage: $15 to $17 CAD
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may offer additional pay
- Meals may be provided during shifts
- Two years’ Work Permit and apply for Immigrationunder the Agri Pilot Program OR PNP after 1 year of Canadian experience.
