Laundry Worker
Laundry Workers are responsible for cleaning, drying, folding, and sometimes ironing clothes, linens, and other textile items. Found in hotels, hospitals, laundromats, and commercial facilities, this role is perfect for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy repetitive tasks and maintaining cleanliness standards.
As a Laundry Worker, your duties include sorting items by type or color, loading machines, applying detergent, and inspecting finished items for cleanliness. In some settings, you may also be responsible for pressing and folding items, tracking laundry loads, or dealing with special fabric care instructions.
You will often work in warm environments due to machinery and will need to be comfortable standing, lifting, and operating laundry equipment. Punctuality, consistency, and attention to care labels and instructions are key to success in this role.
- Sorting laundry by color, fabric, or type
- Operating washing, drying, and pressing machines
- Folding and organizing clean linens or clothing
- Identifying and treating stains
- Maintaining cleanliness of laundry area
- Tracking laundry loads or processing receipts (in retail settings)
- No formal education required
- Ability to follow fabric care instructions
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Physical stamina to lift and move laundry loads
- Basic understanding of safety and chemical usage
- Prior experience is an asset but not mandatory
- Average hourly wage: $15 to $17 CAD
- Uniforms may be provided by the employer
- Full-time and part-time roles available
- Two years’ Work Permit and apply for Immigrationunder the Agri Pilot Program OR PNP after 1 year of Canadian experience.
