Meat Cutters are skilled workers who prepare meat for sale by cutting, trimming, and packaging different types of meat products. This job is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with good knife skills and a focus on hygiene and food safety.
Job Brief
As a Meat Cutter, you’ll work in a butcher shop, grocery store, or meat processing plant, using knives or cutting machines to portion meat products according to specifications. You will also be responsible for inspecting meat quality, cleaning equipment, and maintaining cold storage standards.
The role requires working in cold environments and handling raw meat, so strict adherence to safety and sanitation procedures is a must.
Responsibilities
- Cutting and portioning meat, poultry, or fish
- Weighing, packaging, and labeling products
- Cleaning cutting tools and work surfaces
- Maintaining cold chain and storage conditions
- Checking inventory and rotating stock
- Providing product recommendations to customers (retail setting)
Detailed Tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knife-handling skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in cold environments
- Butcher or food handling experience is an asset
Wages
- Average hourly wage: $18 to $22 CAD
- Bonuses or overtime may apply

Requirement
- Two years’ Work Permit and apply for Immigrationunder the Agri Pilot Program OR PNP after 1 year of Canadian experience.
- Education - Minimum High School
- Experience - 1+ years
- IELTS - Overall 4.0
Salary
$18 to $22 CAD / hourly
