Job Description
In this role, you will install HVAC systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety regulations. You’ll handle refrigerants, electrical components, and pressure systems. The job involves working indoors and outdoors, sometimes in tight or hot spaces. Attention to detail, understanding of thermodynamics, and knowledge of safety procedures are critical.
Responsibilities
- Install and service refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Test and troubleshoot HVAC systems for functionality
- Replace or repair faulty components such as motors, compressors, and thermostats
- Handle refrigerants in accordance with environmental standards
- Read blueprints and technical specifications
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure peak performance
Requirements
- Trade certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
- Valid refrigeration handling license
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and electrical circuits
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined areas

Average hourly wage: $30 to $45 NZD
