Job Description
You will manage engine rooms, propulsion systems, fuel systems, and generators. Regular inspections, maintenance, and emergency repairs fall under your responsibilities. You’ll work in confined spaces, often on extended voyages. A solid understanding of maritime laws, engineering systems, and safety standards is vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ship machinery and engines
- Monitor fuel levels, temperatures, and pressure gauges
- Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs
- Maintain logs and engineering records
- Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations
Requirements
- Marine engineering certification
- Experience in marine or offshore environments
- Knowledge of maritime safety and mechanical systems
- Ability to work under pressure in isolated environments
